TO OUR PWR COMMUNITY:
As our members and staff safety is our number one priority, it is critical that we deliver protocol and procedures that go above and beyond those set forth by New York State.
We want to highlight some of the changes you will see taking effect upon re-opening below.

BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS
All members are required to pre-book all classes they plan on attending, and we encourage you to book at least 24 hours in advance. Booking window for each class closes 30 minutes prior to class start time. It’s OK to COMMIT TO PWR! Due to limited class sizes, we are unable to accept walk-ins or add members to the class roster upon entry. Please review our cancellation policy below.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
- Face mask (see PPE guidelines below)
- Towel (at least bathroom hand towel size – washcloths will not be allowed) We have PWR towels for purchase if you’d like to purchase one or forget yours*
- Gym shoes (no outside shoes allowed for workout)
- Water bottle
- OPTIONAL (personal preference): Resistance bands
*The towel requirement is for a mat replacement and for your own sweat. If you would like to bring an additional towel to dry equipment before use, you are welcome to.
HEALTH IN THE GYM
REQUIRED TEMPERATURE CHECKS:
Anyone that enters PWR will be required to have their temperature checked via a no-touch forehead thermometer. If a member's temperature is over 100.4 °F, they will not be allowed to enter the gym.
Members are asked to alert PWR immediately if they test positive for COVID-19 as soon as they are made aware. An email notification will be sent to all potentially exposed persons if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at PWR. PPE Gear: Guidelines established according to NYS mandate masks at all times when inside our facility.
Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the entrance of the gym and throughout. We ask that members use this on their hands immediately upon entering the facility and frequently throughout their visit.
REDUCTION IN CLASS SIZES:
We have reduced the capacity to fit the NYS requirements to 33% of maximum capacity. Even with this requirement, our space is large enough to accommodate 45 members per class.
Each station will allow for a maximum of 7 members to allow for 6ft of social distancing between designated exercise spaces. Spot saving will not be allowed. Since all stations have a limited number of spots, with each arranged and assigned certain equipment, we want to ensure all members have an equal opportunity to choose their preferred starting spot. Please remain in your spot for the entire demo.
Each space will be color coded from beginner to advanced, with corresponding equipment at each. The color you choose will be your color at each station as you rotate. Please adhere to this and refrain from randomly changing spots. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE EQUIPMENT. If you need different equipment, please ask one of our coaches and they will be happy to assist you.
ADDITIONAL TIME BETWEEN CLASSES:
A 15 minute transition time will be in place in between all classes to allow for our staff to deep clean the gym, equipment, and ensure we wipe down all of the surfaces.
Signage will be put up around PWR to remind members and staff what they can do to continually keep themselves and each other safe. Floor markers will be added throughout the space to further encourage 6ft of social FITNESSing and control traffic patterns to help eliminate touch points.
Increased cleaning measures will be routine and rigorous. We will be deep cleaning all common areas including high traffic areas, and all touch points, more often and all fitness equipment more rigorously with sanitation measures and disinfectant that meets or exceeds CDC measures. In addition, every member will receive a mini-disinfecting spray to be used throughout their workout for equipment.
Per NYS Guidelines, we adopted ventilation and air filtration mitigation protocols with HEPA (MERV-19) Air Doctor filter systems.
You must pre-book your classes, as all classes are limited in capacity to adhere to social distancing and capacity guidelines. Classes may be booked up to 30 minutes prior to the start of each class time.
Cancellations must be complete 8 hours before the class reservation to avoid a fee ($10 for regular classes and $20 for holiday classes). If you are not feeling well and it is past the window, please email and let us know so that we can make the correction on your account. We do respectfully ask that if you are not feeling well you do not come to the gym until you are symptom-free or fever free for at least three days. Example: If you cancel a class on Friday for Saturday, we ask that you do not attend until at least Tuesday.
For everyone’s safety, there will be no access to classes once they have started. The main door will be locked once class begins. With the added 15 minute transition window between classes, parking should not be an issue. Please be mindful as you leave class and avoid lingering/socializing in the parking lot to allow for incoming members to park.
We have meticulously considered as many angles of PWR's operations as we can to ensure that when you are inside the gym, we are doing all we can to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus. For our protocols to be most effective, we need everyone to play their part while attending PWR as we are all leaders in this community together.
